Taking Time for Myself: Pursuing Photography, Film, and Future Dreams

Over the years, I’ve poured so much energy into client projects, constantly chasing invoices and searching for the right opportunities. But now, I’m shifting gears and taking time for myself—focusing on photography and videography purely for my own creative growth. It feels good to create without limitations, without expectations, and without needing anyone’s approval but my own.

One of my biggest priorities right now is saving up to produce my first short film, The Silent Orchard. This project is incredibly important to me, and I want to do it right. The process of bringing this vision to life has been both challenging and rewarding. Every decision, from location scouting to prop design, is being carefully planned to make sure the final result is something I’m truly proud of.

Once The Silent Orchard is complete, I won’t be stopping there. My ultimate goal is to move on to feature films—projects that can be picked up by platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and beyond. The dream isn’t just about making movies; it’s about telling stories that resonate, that leave an impact, and that push boundaries in filmmaking.

In addition to my film work, I’m also organizing something special for the local photography community. A unique photoshoot experience is in the works, and while I’m keeping the details under wraps for now, I can promise that it will be something worth waiting for. As the date gets closer, I’ll reveal more, and I can’t wait to share this creative vision with everyone.

Right now, it’s all about building, creating, and laying the foundation for the future I want. Every step I take is leading me toward bigger projects, greater opportunities, and the freedom to pursue my passion on my own terms. I’m excited for what’s ahead, and I appreciate everyone who’s been supporting me along the way. Stay tuned—big things are coming.

Winning the Best Music Video Award at OSIF 2024: A Dream Realized

Wow. What an incredible feeling it is to say that I’ve won Best Music Video at the Okanagan Society of Independent Filmmaking (OSIF) Awards 2024! From being nominated in 2023 to standing here with this award in hand a year later, the journey has been nothing short of amazing.

Winning this award isn’t just about the recognition—it’s about the passion, effort, and creativity that went into every frame of the music video. It’s about the late nights, the fine details, and the relentless drive to bring a vision to life. To see that hard work pay off in such a huge way is beyond rewarding.

I want to thank everyone who supported me along the way—whether you were part of the production, gave feedback, or simply believed in what I was creating. This win is not just mine; it belongs to everyone who helped make this project a reality.

This is just the beginning. More projects, more creativity, and more storytelling are on the way. Stay tuned, because there’s so much more to come!

Thank you, OSIF, and thank you to everyone who continues to support independent filmmaking.

"King of the North" (KOTN) Music Video

Artist Statement for "King of the North" (KOTN) Music Video

In the creation of our latest music video, "King of the North" (KOTN), Tello and I sought to push artistic boundaries by merging compelling visual storytelling with the raw power of our music. Filmed against the breathtaking backdrop of Kelowna, this video captures the essence of our collaborative vision and passion for the craft.

"King of the North" is more than just a music video; it is an immersive experience that transports the audience into a world of intrigue, mystery, and undeniable charisma. Drawing inspiration from the intense aesthetics of a sniper cell, we crafted a visual narrative that unfolds with precision and intensity. The use of sniper cell style cinematography adds a unique and dynamic layer to the storytelling, creating a sense of urgency and suspense that mirrors the energy of the music.

Kelowna's scenic beauty serves as a contrasting canvas to the gritty and intense narrative, creating a visual dichotomy that enhances the overall impact of the video. The juxtaposition of the serene landscapes with the sharp, calculated movements of the sniper cell style highlights the complexity of the themes explored in the song.

"King of the North" delves into themes of power, resilience, and the pursuit of greatness. The video captures the essence of these themes through its meticulously crafted visuals, showcasing Tello and me as artistic forces to be reckoned with. The King of the North is not just a title; it is a symbol of ambition, leadership, and the relentless pursuit of one's goals.

As artists, we believe in pushing boundaries and challenging conventions. Through the "King of the North" music video, we invite our audience to join us on a journey where music and visuals converge to create an unforgettable experience. This project is a testament to our dedication to the craft, our love for storytelling, and our commitment to pushing the limits of creativity.

In "King of the North," we invite you to witness the fusion of music and visual artistry, a collaboration that transcends genres and expectations. It's more than a video; it's an immersive sonic and visual adventure that invites you to explore the depths of our creative expression.

I am thrilled to share the incredible journey of filming and directing Tello’s mesmerizing music video for "Counting."

I am thrilled to share the incredible journey of filming and directing Tello’s mesmerizing music video for "Counting." Collaborating closely with the talented music artist Tello, this project has been a labor of love that spanned over 8 months. The creative process was a whirlwind of ideas, passion, and dedication, resulting in a visual masterpiece that is already setting a new standard for our work.

From the initial spark of inspiration to the final frame, every moment was an exhilarating adventure. Tello's unique vision and my directorial expertise blended seamlessly, giving life to a narrative that beautifully synchronized with the music's rhythm and emotion. The process involved meticulous planning, intensive shoots, and artistic experimentation that pushed boundaries.

Countless hours were poured into crafting the perfect shots, scenes, and transitions, each element reflecting our shared commitment to excellence. The project's success was not only a testament to our skills but also a testament to the power of collaboration and creative synergy. The music video for "Counting" stands as a vivid representation of our unwavering dedication, and it is already garnering attention as a benchmark for our future endeavors.

As I look back on this remarkable journey, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Tello and bring his artistic vision to life. This music video is more than just a visual accompaniment; it is a testament to the magic that happens when passion, hard work, and innovation converge. The months of effort have culminated in a piece of art that not only tells a story but also captures the essence of our shared creativity. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished, and I can't wait for the world to experience the magic of "Counting" by Tello.

Powerful Emotions

I love my experience through photography being able to make random people I have never met before feel confident in themselves and capturing their glow I met this guy downtown and his outfit was amazing, I complimented him and asked him if I could take some photos of him and she was more than thrilled! This is an exact representation of how my personality reflects on the people that I capture through my camera.

My Photography

Photography is my life and everything that I want to do. My photography strives to capture my view of the world and express my way of showing it. Photographing and capturing moments has been in my life for as long as I can remember, and finally being able to make my passion my career is the strongest feeling in the world. Photography makes me very emotionally attached to the images, I have learned over time that it can be used as a healing tool for me.

My imagery is driven by emotion and mood. The space that I take up with my emotions is huge and I want my photos to reflect that. In my personal work, I always get the subject to portray a certain emotion to drive the viewer. The way I have found to truly get real emotion in my imagery is to create a relationship with my subject/model to ensure a comfortable space where the emotion can be expressed naturally. For my clients, I wait until I see that perfect moment that shows the most emotion and capture it before it’s gone.

I always wanted to capture better quality images and show moments in life, but I was never able to afford a good quality camera to get the results I wanted.

When I was 17, I saved up for my first new Canon camera and was able to make my vision a reality. Then I applied for the Center for Arts and Technology to get the technical training I needed to get professional results. Now I am on my way to living my dream and capturing the world in the way I want to show it.
